Fishing

The phrase "Just a little bit of heaven", was a comment made by an American guest in our first year of operation. We liked it so much we decided to use it as our tagline. It aptly describes the quiet untouched wilderness of the Cup Lake area.

Sandy beaches, rocky shoals, sheltered bays and fresh water from the river system combine to make a natural spawning ground for northern pike, walleye and lake trout. Good populations are found in all three species. The nice thing about the lake is that it always has sheltered bays in not so forgiving weather.
Cup Lake Adventures is the only camp on the lake. We take only 32 guests per year; thus keeping fishing pressure to a minimum. Reduced limits, a catch and release policy plus encouragement of barbless hook use ensure fish resources for generations to come. It is conceiveable that you could come back year after year and battle the same monster northern pike, finicky walleye or jumbo lake trout, only a little larger.
There is a small, unnamed lake inside the cup which we like to call "Crystal Lake" because the water is so clear that you can see the fish at the bottom. Be sure to make use of the 12 foot boat that we keep there to do some more northern pike fishing.
