Cup Lake is approximately five miles long and is not more than a mile across at the widest. Nestled in the rocks in the heart of the precambrian shield, its beauty is emphasized by the numerous types of trees and vegetation surrounding the lake as well as the number of bays, inlets and rock and sandy shores.
The lake is named for its shape from the air. It is shaped like a cup with the creek and little lake on the south being the handle of the cup.
Also visit the waterfall at the north end of the lake. Paddle up the creek to the bottom of it, walk down the game trail and hear the roar of the falls. Click the photo at left to view a short video clip. Click the lake below it to view a larger map.
